Melanie_web“It’s LADY-like to Burpee.”

I began my fitness career in 1999. New to Saugeen Shores, I joined a gym and began working out and attending classes. The owner saw something special in me and asked me if I’d like to work for her. I am forever grateful for the opportunity and for setting me on a new career path that I have become very passionate about. I’m one of the lucky ones who can say that “I love my job!”.

Fitness Funatics is not only the place I work, it has become my home away from home. A beautiful and functional studio with with lots of ‘toys’ to get your body working.  You won’t find many “machines’ here.  I want to make your body move and work with good form and positive results. Fair warning: I make Burpees interesting & fun!

Specializing in Women’s Fitness, I am excited about bringing a healthy and fit lifestyle to the ladies of Saugeen Shores.

I am a mother of 2 and appreciate the challenges women face with weight management and body image. I am a caring and compassionate trainer and will give you 100% during training sessions. I will motivate and encourage you while providing a safe and effective workout. I’ll assist with goal setting, challenges, nutrition counseling and will see you through your healthy journey, be there for you when you need me both inside the studio and out.

As a SPI Certified Advanced Fitness Instructor, I also teach a variety of classes at the Studio: Muscle Fusion (my favourite!!); Step classes; LeBarre and our summertime class “Avengers”.

I’m proud to say that I am a certified Lebert Training Systems Instructor.  Working alongside Jenn Hall (the creator of LeBarre) and Marc Lebert (Inventor of the Equalizers and Buddy System) was a career highlight.  I am fortunate in my career to learn from the best of the best. Other formats I have taught throughout the years is HipHop Dance, Senior’s Fitness, Yoga Stretch and Children’s Fitness.

When not at the studio, I enjoy time spent with my daughters and lazy days at the beach. I love to travel and I’ll try anything once! I’m known for my love of spicy food (and I mean really spicy!), reading scary novels, and breaking out in dance when the music comes on!
