I’ve always been physically active but I didn’t go to my first Pilates class until a few months after the birth of my second child. I was a hardcore runner at the time, completing several half-marathons and two duathalons so losing the “baby weight” was not an issue for me – my body had simply changed and I wanted to address those changes by mixing up my fitness routine.
I fell in love with the way Pilates made me feel after a class – taller, leaner, stronger. I loved the flow and the precision and control of the movements.
After a couple of years of being an avid student I decided to take the plunge and become certified as a Pilates Mat Instructor in 2010. I was lucky enough to start teaching classes that fit around my busy life being a mom to two small children.
This fall with both kids in school full-time, I made another big change and joined the Fitness Funatics team – and I have never been happier!! I started teaching group mat classes and was thrilled by the warm welcome I received!
